Maybe the reason Obama stopped wearing an American flag lapel pin is because he didn’t want his buddy and domestic terror group founder William Ayers to step on his chest!

I Am A New Yorker

I do not necessarily live in the five boroughs or on Long Island or Upstate, or maybe I do. Or I may live hundreds or thousands of miles away. Or I may live just over the George Washington Bridge in New Jersey where many of us have moved. But I am a New Yorker. Yes, I am a New Yorker. Whatever took me out of New York: business, family or hating the cold did not take New York out of me. You can bet on that. Maybe my Brooklyn accent may have faded and my pace may have slowed down a bit, but I am a New Yorker. Yes. I am a New Yorker down to my bones. I was raised on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, China Town, Little Italy and Rockefeller Center . I’m a Yankee fan and I love the Mets, and the Football Giants, Jones Beach , Rye Beach, Coney Island, Rockaway Beach or one of the beaches on Long Island Sound. I know that "THE END" means Montauk. Because I am a New Yorker. Yes, I am a New Yorker. When I go on vacation, I never look up, Skyscrapers are something I take for granted The Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty are part of me. Taxis and noise and subways and people fighting for a parking space, don't rattle me because I am a New Yorker. I am a New Yorker. I was raised on cultural diversity before it was politically correct I eat Greek food and Italian food, and Jewish and Middle Eastern food and Chinese food, and Japanese food. Because they are all good American food to me. I don't get mad when people speak other languages in my presence because my relatives got to this country via Ellis Island and chose to stay. They were New Yorkers also. Maybe they couldn’t speak English when they got here, but you can bet your last buck that they learned fast enough! People who have never been to New York have always misunderstood me. My friends and family work in the industries, professions and businesses that benefit all Americans. My firefighters and policemen friends died trying to save New Yorkers and non-New Yorkers as well. They died trying to save Americans and non-Americans Because they were New Yorkers also. I am a New Yorker, I feel the pain of my fellow New Yorkers I mourn the loss of my beautiful city’s great skyline as the World Trade Center is no longer part of it. And I wept for days when it fell. I feel and dread that New York will never be the same ever since that awful day. But then I remembered that I am a New Yorker, and New Yorkers survive. And New Yorkers have, tenacity, strength and courage way above the norm. They have compassion and they care for our fellow citizens. They have Love and Pride in our City, in our State, in our Country. New Yorkers have intelligence, experience, culture, and education par excellence. We have the ability, dedication and the energy and above and beyond all we have faith--no matter what religion we practice. Yes, the Terrorists hit America in its heart but America's heart still beats strong. They may have demolish the steel in our buildings, but it doesn't touch the steel in our souls. They hit us in the pocketbook, but we'll parlay what we have left into a fortune They may have ended innocent lives, leaving widows and orphans, but we'll take care of them BECAUSE THEY ARE NEW YORKERS. Wherever we live, whatever we do, and whoever we are. There are New Yorkers in every state and every city of this nation. We will not abandon our city We will not abandon our Brothers and Sisters. We will not abandon the beauty, creativity and diversity that New York represents Because we are New Yorkers. And we are proud to be New Yorkers. And we vow that this will never happen to us again.
